There is a rise in rental scammers taking advantage of the huge need in California for housing. Scammers are listing homes and apartments that they don’t own to get potential renters to send money and even their personal information like driver’s license numbers, social security numbers, and bank account information.

An unsuspecting renter gives up their personal information and cash and is left without a place to live. This scam is taking place all over California.
