Ever wonder what the future of downtown Santa Barbara might look like? Amid our current pandemic disruption Detty Peikert, AIA, Ellen Bildsten, AIA, and Cassandra Ensberg, FAIA, the 3 co-chairs of the Advocacy Committee and the chairs of the 2020 design Charette are sharing their visions for what Santa Barbara’s downtown could be someday. The charette is on display downtown and online (see links below).
Currently, the future of downtown Santa Barbara’s iconic State Street is bleak due to the state-mandated shut down although a few businesses remain open.
